Congregational Health Ministries Focusing on Health Promotion, Prevention, and Response

Health Promotion: Congregational Health Ministries serve the faith community by providing resources, education, and ministry opportunities that focus on promoting health and wellness.

Prevention: Congregational Health Ministries provide the faith community with education and a variety of activities that focus on preventing disease and empowering individuals to be responsible stewards of their body, mind, and spirit.

Response: Congregational Health Ministries serve the faith community by responding to actual problems and/or needs that affect health and healing.

Parish Nursing

Parish Nursing is a specialty practice of professional nursing and a professional model of health ministry that focuses on whole person health promotion and disease prevention from a faith perspective. For more information contact Debbie Duke, Parish Nurse, at 783-3495.

Health Ministry Team

The Health Ministry Team is a group of individuals who view people from a holistic perspective. The members of the Health Ministry Team look to Scripture to see that people are integrated beings comprised of a body, mind, and spirit. The Health Ministry Team is committed to promoting care of the whole person. The members of the Health Ministry Team serve to empower individuals to move toward whole person health—physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness. Meets Monday nights at 6 P.M., bi-monthly. Carolyn Whitten Cancer Support Group

This is a support group for anyone who has or is coping with cancer, or is a caregiver of someone with cancer. We meet on the third Thursday of each month in Room W103. For additional information, please call Sharon Sylvester at 655-0683.

Disaster Team and Emergency Team

The Disaster Team is a group that would open the church in the case of a disaster where the congregation and community could be sheltered. The American Red Cross trained the team to act independently as a shelter. All kinds of help is needed to staff the church during this time of crisis.

The Emergency Team is a team of professionally trained personnel who respond to an emergency situation during services at any location on the church campus.  If you would like to serve on these teams please contact:  Debbie Duke, Parish Nurse @783-3495

Ministry Statement:  Life will never be the same; however, through God, may we have the compassion to listen with our hearts as we reach out to others to restore a purpose to our lives.

Free Blood Pressure Checks

Free blood pressure checks are offered every Sunday (except holiday weekends) between 10:15 and 10:45 a.m. at the Health Ministry table by the Cafe.
