Getting connected and taking the next step in your faith sometimes is overwhelming. You might want to get more involved with ClearBranch, but don’t know where to begin. We home that our Next Steps provides you with some information about connecting with ClearBranch and its ministries.

Baptism
What does it mean to be baptized?
Baptism is an outward sign of an inward and spiritual grace signifying what God has done, not what we have done. For this reason we accept other baptisms because we recognize them as the work of God, not of a particular congregation. As an adult it is a celebration of our recognition that we are loved by God and begin to love him back! And all that is by grace. Baptism is a celebration of when we recognize that God has recognized us. For infants and young children, it is the parents and community of faith realizing that God has claimed each person as his child, even before they have the capacity to claim him back.

Membership
What does membership mean at ClearBranch?
Some might think it means privilege - that there are special rights that only members have. However, a better understanding of membership is that you have special responsibilities. As a member you will be responsible to know Christ, to grow in Christ, to serve Christ, and to share Christ. This means that you take seriously the promises to support the church with your prayers, your gifts, your time, your presence, and your witness. ClearBranch’s commitment to you, as a member, is to equip you to be a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ.

What if I have never belonged to a church?
In order to join ClearBranch UMC, it is necessary to be baptized. Once baptized, any person may join by “profession of faith”. This simply means that you will answer “yes” to questions about your faith in Christ and your intention to lead a Christian life.

What if I already belong to another United Methodist Church?
Notify our office of your decision to join. You can do this by:
  • Checking the “Wish to Join” box on the registration pad on Sunday mornings.
  • Calling the church office 655-9414. The office will take care of transferring your membership to ClearBranch.
What if I belong to a church in another denomination?
Simply notify our office in one of the ways listed above. We will write your former church and request the transfer of membership.
Ministries
ClearBranch is more than just a Sunday morning. It is an opportunity for you to get connected into a ministry that you enjoy, that you can grow in and that you can help others with.

Missions
Sending People For Christ is the ClearBranch vision for our mandate to take the good news of Christ to the world with our hands and feet. ClearBranch, from its beginning, has been sending its people locally, nationally and internationally to people whose basic needs for food, clothing, shelter, health care, and a place to worship are not being met.
